I personally believe that the artworks and objects we surround ourselves with - have the subtle ability to transform and inspire us. The spaces we live in can be far more than places that house all our stuff - and can be our own live in “Artworks or Sacred spaces” if curated well. As an Artist and Interiors curator I use a personalised approach to transforming spaces designed to soothe and excite you – aiming to free you from the struggle to balance the “Sacred and Profane” of life”.
This struggle between living our best ‘Sacred’ or Creative life, of color, curiosity and mindfulness with the ‘profane’ or domestic, the heavy weight of the daily chores and life is something I work at balancing... as a practicing artist this push and pull on my own creativity I know well. I am convinced in part the balance lies in the way we design and curate our spaces.
By making a conscious choice to surround ourselves with artworks and objects that inspire: Decluttering, being selective in our choices, bringing in texture, softness, colour, creating systems to help flow, we can maximize our time and allow headspace and life to flourish…subtly and seemingly alchemically - bringing Soul into our spaces. Allowing more time for our own forms of creativity.
